i've made a huge tiny mistake.
I’m having one of those stress breakdowns wherein I channel all of my discomfited feelings into closet-cleaning. If I don’t do this now, I will be on Hoarders in 20 years, living in a ranch-style home replete with old sweaters and decaying cat bodies. NO! I will not let this happen to me!
And now I need to hyperventilate and cry.

i propose a new bumper sticker slogan:
“wisconsin is for douches”
on the bright side, if i’m ever worried that i’m not good at anything, i can remind myself of how good i am at keeping everyone at arm’s length.
oh shit.
with love and squalor.
there are two phone conversations going on in the bedroom next to this one, and it makes my usual habit of eavesdropping particularly difficult. you try following two disparate narrative threads and see how it goes for you. i suppose the life lesson in all of this is ‘stop listening to other people’s conversations’, but if i did that, reader, i’d just be too bored for...

I keep seeing boys that look like a cross between a member of Vampire Weekend and the smarmy fellow I had a crush on when I was 17. It’s very WANT/DO NOT WANT, if you catch my drift.

(I agree with this so much - I wrote a paper on this sort of topic, that there are stories and themes that reoccur in human existence because they strike chords in us that satisfy…something… and i don’t think...

Remember his deliberate happiness”

pale fire.
I get to invest the next semester in studying Vladimir Nabokov’s “Pale Fire” as a research assistant for one of the best English professors at this institution. This novel is delicious, self-reflective prose driven by a character so obtuse and unaware that I can’t even believe it.
in other words, i’m really excited.
twelve songs i loved in 2009:
1. maps - the yeah yeah yeahs (i didn’t like the yyy’s til this year, silly me.)
